Shot Of The Day
Precious Drops
A few months ago, my hot water heater exploded.
We were without hot water for a few days while we waited for our new gas-operated heater. “With gas,” the salesman explained, “the hot water never runs out!”
I wondered to myself, “Have I ever run out of hot water?” Shivering at the thought, I paid the ridiculous price for this luxury.
It was not until I took my first “bath” in Cuba, that I suddenly had the first pangs of gratitude for the utter
abundance of my situation.
A bucket. A cup. And soap that I had brought myself from home. Worried that I might get cold, the lady of the house boiled the water on a gas burner.
It was the most satisfying hot bath I have ever had!
