Shot Of The Day
Resilient Heart
How does one photograph a collective spirit? An attitude? A condition of the heart? Sitting outside the airport, contemplating this question, I was stricken by the amount of barbed wire there. I suppose all airports, by necessity, are shrouded in security. Havana is no exception. But the Havana sky seemed so incredibly soft and pink that day in contrast to the sharpness and starkness of the razor wire. Then I noticed this perfectly formed section of wire. And there it was. Right before my eyes. A picture of the Cuban spirit. The ability of the Cuban people’s hearts to beat beyond boundaries. The resilliant heart.
